In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to STAR FOOD B.V., and “the app” refers to RainBall. Where data protection law applies, STAR FOOD B.V. is the party responsible for the app.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy explains what information the RainBall app handles, where it is kept and what choices you have. It applies to the RainBall app for Android. It does not cover Google Play itself or other websites and services, which have their own privacy policies.
3. Data stored on your device
To work, the app saves the information below in its private storage on your phone or tablet. This information stays on your device. We cannot see it and we do not receive a copy of it.
| Information | Why it is stored |
|---|---|
| Profile name | Shown on your profile. It is optional and can be any nickname. |
| Onboarding and survey answers (goal, level, playing style, how often you play) | Used to personalise your daily plan, weekly programme and coach recommendations. |
| Training and progress data (XP, level, skills, streaks, achievements, training history, challenge results) | Used to track your progress and show statistics. |
| Tennis IQ, quiz and course progress | Used to show your results and choose the next scenarios and questions. |
| Matches you simulate or record, match statistics and match journal notes | Used for your match history, analysis and ranking in the app. |
| Custom training sessions you build | So you can reuse them. |
| Bookings, survey answers and feedback you enter | Shown in the app. See section 8. |
| Settings (notifications, reminder time, sound, vibration, units, language, theme) | To remember your preferences. |
Please do not enter sensitive information, such as health data, in free-text fields like match notes, journal answers or feedback.
4. Data we collect
We do not collect any personal data through the app. The app does not request the Android internet permission, so it cannot send information over the network. In particular, we do not collect:
- your name, e-mail address, phone number or contacts;
- your location;
- device identifiers or advertising IDs;
- usage analytics, crash reports or diagnostics;
- photos, videos, audio or files.
If you contact us by e-mail, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your e-mail address and your message. We use it only to reply to you and keep it only as long as needed for that purpose.
5. Device permissions
| Permission | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Show notifications | Local reminders that you switch on in Settings: daily training, upcoming booked sessions, new challenges, weekly goals, tournaments, achievements and training reminders. Notifications are created on your device. You can turn each type off at any time. |
| Run at startup | Restores your reminders after the device restarts. Nothing else is done at startup. |
The app does not access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos or files.
6. Android backup
If you have turned on Android backup on your device, Android may include the app’s data in your device backup and restore it when you set up a new device. This backup is done by Google on your behalf and is linked to your Google account, under Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not have access to these backups. You can switch backup off in your device settings.
7. Third parties and sharing
We do not sell, rent or share your data, and the app contains no third-party advertising, analytics or tracking services. The app uses Android Jetpack libraries made by Google to run on your device. These libraries work offline and do not send your data anywhere.
The app is downloaded through Google Play. Google may process data about your download and purchases under its own privacy policy.
8. Bookings, surveys and feedback
The app lets you reserve spots in coached training sessions, answer surveys and write feedback. In the current version of the app, this information is saved only on your device. It is not sent to us, to coaches, to clubs or to anyone else.
The coaches, clubs, players and tournaments shown in the app are fictional. Booking a session in the app does not create a real reservation with a real coach or club.
If we later add online features, for example sending bookings or feedback to a server, we will update this policy before that change is released and the app will tell you what is sent and why.
9. Retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device until you delete it. You can delete it at any time:
- In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete all local data erases everything. You can also Reset progression or Clear match history separately.
- In Android settings: clear the app’s storage.
- Uninstall the app, which removes all of its data from the device.
Because we do not hold your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. If you have sent us an e-mail, you can ask us to delete it.
10. Security
App data is kept in the app’s private storage, which Android protects from other apps. Keeping your device locked and up to date helps protect this data. Because the app does not transmit data, it is not exposed to risks of transfer over the internet.
11. Children
RainBall is a tennis training app for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children, and contains no advertising or in-app purchases. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by e-mail, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Your rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other privacy laws, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to its use and to receive it in a portable format. As the app keeps your data only on your device, you can view, change and delete it yourself in the app at any time.
For any privacy question or request, contact us using the details in section 14. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when we add new features. The current version is always available at this address, and the date at the top shows when it was last updated. If a change affects how your data is handled, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
